EHCC wish to introduce the tragic case of Albert from Kollam, who is now paralyzed from hip downwards, further to a freak accident at his work site . He is currently being treated with Mafraq Hospital. As informed by doctors, it is very difficult for Albert to regain the use of his legs ever again, barring a miracle.

Albert came to Abu Dhabi 3 months ago as a technician in a ready-mix plant and company based in Mussafa. He is only 20 years old. Although he's being treated at Mafraq hospital now, his company wishes to send him home as soon as the formalities are over.

For Albert, the prospects back home are not very promising. He is survived by an unemployed and sick parents and a married brother who works as a skilled technician back in Kerala. Cost of any further treatment even back at home is intimidating. So is the likelihood that he'll remain a cripple for the rest of his life. As he is very new at work, his company is unlikely to pay him anything substantial when he goes home in this condition.

Friends, we need your help to rekindle in Albert the desire to fight on despite such mountainous odds against him…

Finally Albert on his way for Treatment Back Home

With God's grace, although after so much delay, Mr. Charmson Albert was flown back to Thiruvananthapuram by Ethihad Flt Ey 272 at 9.30 PM, yesterday, 9/03/2009.

On reaching Kollam in the morning today, he is admitted to ICU at Benzigar hospital, Kollam, for immediate treatment. As informed from Kollam, he is planned to be moved to Indo American hospital in Viakom (Kottayam District) for specialty treatment once Benzigar Hospital certifies that he is in stable condition

This is a humble request from a SCI(spinal cord injured) youth of 24 years old.I am Sujesh Anspaul a resident of Trivandrum,Kerala,South India.In 11th April 2005.I met an accident(Falling from a height of 30ft from a Mango tree)and sustained injury In my T10-T11 Level Vertebra of my Back bone and my Spinal cord got crushed followed by my both legs got paralyzed.

Emirate hawks, a small cricket club based in Abu Dhabi stands singular by playing not just cricket. In its quest to stand out and be counted, the club is in to a number of social services and has set an example for many to follow.

Construction workers, despite being the force that powers the spectacular engine of the growth of this country, stands relegated to background more often than not. Emirates Hawks, a motley club of young professionals, feels for them strongly and has decided to do their bit.

This week, the club has organized luncheon with about 100 construction workers at local building site. According to club spokesman, “this is an act of camaraderie, feeling oneself with the toiling masses and thereby imbibes the dignity of labour”.

The club spokesman elaborated that ‘this is the latest of number of such endeavors by the club. The next in the agenda, apart from playing Cricket, will be to conduct free medical camps and the efforts are already on.

The club members are overwhelmingly enthusiastic about continuing in the similar fashion because ‘to them this is one way of fulfilling your obligation to your brethren and their by to almighty’.
